Haha ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Aug-2017
Even ruby-red colour, with a little garnet tint, lighter edged. The nose is softly packed and concentrated with moderately firm and deep aromas of dark-red cherry and black berried fruits, along with complexing savoury herbal notes. Medium-bodied, the palate has gently concentrated flavours of ripe dark-red cherry and berry fruit with nuances of plums and savoury herbs. This has good presence and body, the flavours smoothly filling the palate and forming a rounded heart. The fruit is framed by fine, grainy tannin structure with fresh acidity providing energy and drive. The structure carries the flavours to a sustained, rounded finish. This is a gently full and rounded Pinot Noir with rich, dark berry fruit and a grainy textured palate. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 4+ years. Clones 777, 667 and 115, the fruit from the Awatere Valley, hand-picked and fermented to 13.0% alc., 70% of the wine aged 12 months in French oak. 18.0-/20 Aug 2017 RRP $27.99
