Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Jun-2020
Dark, even throughout, light ruby-red colour. The nose is youthful and vibrant with perfume, Cherry Ripe, blackberries melded with a subtle oak spice element. Medium-bodied, vibrant confectionary fruit note of cherry, raspberry and blackberry took centre stage, merged with a subtle note of oak spices. The fruit is juicy, alongside mouthwatering acidity, very fresh and vibrant; flows with good energy to a moderately long finish. There is a delicate layer of smooth tannin, added interest on the palate. This is a vibrant, straightforward Pinot Noir with juicy fruit and lively acidity with a subtle tone of oak spices on a smooth tannin texture line. Match with Charcuterie board and Spicy Thai beef salad over the next 2 years. Fruit from vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Awatere Valley. Cold soaked, temperature-controlled fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels to 13% alc. 16.5/20 pts June 2020 RRP $24.99
