Haha Marlbrough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Feb-2015
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is light and elegantly restrained with yellow stonefruit and citrus fruit aromas with subtle and delicate nuances of nutty oak and hints of lemon curd MLF adding interest. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, stylishly restrained flavours of citrus and stonefruits form a soft-textured, gently concentrated core. This has clarity and freshness with bright acidity balancing the light creamy textures and enlivening the mouthfeel. As the wine flows, nutty and toast suggestions and a little lemon curd and butterscotch emerges, leading to a light, dry finish. This is an elegant, fruit-focussed Chardonnay with some creaminess and subtle nutty notes. Serve with creamy sauce seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Waihopi and Wairau Valleys fermented to 13.0% alc. and 1 g/L RS, the wine given oak contact. 16.5+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $17.99
