Haha Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-Feb-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the edge. This has a gently voluminous nose with subtly packed, dense aromas of gooseberry fruit harmoniously melded with passionfruit notes and hints of tropical fruits, herbs, white florals and a suggestion of chalky minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features vibrant and tightly bound flavours of gooseberries, tropical fruits, white florals and fresh herbs. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with thirst-quenching acidity, and the wine flows along a fine-textured, dry phenolic line. This has good flavour drive and carries to an elegant, dry finish of gooseberries and minerals. This is a crisp and tightly bound, dry Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of gooseberries, tropical fruits and herbs and chalky, mouthwatering minerals. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Waihopai and Wairau Valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with 3% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS, the barrel portion in oak for 3-4 months. 17.5/20 Dec 2016 RRP $15.99
