Haha Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Jun-2016
Even ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the edge. This has a full, bright and up-front, fruity nose with gentle aromas of raspberries and dark red cherry fruit, along with a little dark herbal interest, unfolding liquorice notes. The aromatics are harmoniously presented. Medium-bodied, soft and gently full, plush flavours of soft red berry fruit and raspberries are interwoven with subtle plum and liquorice notes, and a little herb freshness. The fruit shows some sweetness and richness, and flows gently, filling the mouth. There is good underlying presence, and the fruit is supported by light tannin extraction, with integrated acidity adding to the softness. The flavours are smooth and lead to a red-berry fruited finish with some spicy elements. This is a soft, plush, gently mouthfilling Pinot Noir with fruit richness and presence, and a smooth mouthfeel. Serve with pasta, pizza, antipasto and Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Upper Wairau valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc., with 45% of the wine aged 8 months in French oak. 17.0/20 Jun 2016 RRP $19.99
