Haha Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2011
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a ripe dark red berry and cherry fruited nose with plum and red liquorice aromas nuanced with a little fresh herb liveliness. The aromatics are rich and concentrated. Medium-full bodied, this has bright and vibrant dark red berry, cherry and plum flavours that are fulsome, rich and sweet on palate. Fresh acidity and fine grainy textures provide supple support for fruit, providing plenty of structure. The boldness of the fruit is the feature, and this contributes to a lovely sweet, juicy finish. Clones 777, 667 and 115 from the Awatere and Upper Wairau Valleys, the fruit given a cold oak and fermented to 13.9% alc., 40% of the wine aged in French barriques for 10 months. Match with most red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. 18.0-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $19.99
