Haha Marlborough Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Jan-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, pale edged. The aromatics are softly full and a little restrained in expression, showing yellow stonefruits entwined with citrus fruit, white florals, and nutty, waxy oak elements, unveiling subtle mineral and flint detail. This builds in depth and concentration with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate is youthful and tightly bound with flavours of white stonefruits, citrus fruit, nuts and waxy elements, with flinty nuance. The wine follows a fine-textured phenolic thread, with fresh, lacy acidity enlivening the mouthfeel with energy and cut. The palate leads to an elegant, lingering finish of stonefruits, nuts and flint. This is a fresh, youthfully tight Chardonnay with white stonefruit, nutty, waxy and flinty detail. It will become richer over the next 3+ years. Serve with seafood and poultry. Fruit from the Waihopi and Wairau Valleys, hand-picked with 45% indigenous yeast barrel-fermentation to 13.0% alc., with 20% of the wine undergoing MLF. 16.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $17.99
