Haha ‘Brut Rosé’ NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 19-Jul-2018
Bright candy-floss pink with some peach hues and some depth, a little lighter on the edge, the bubbles moderately fine and persistent. The nose is youthfully fresh and lively, with elegant aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle notes of red fruits and florals. The nose is refreshing and mouthwatering, and shows a delicate line of bread and yeasty detail, unveiling a little toast. The aromatics show with delicacy and restraint. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is brisk and lively with refreshing acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. The palate has a moderately concentrated core of softly sweet stonefruits, florals and berryfruits. The wine flows along a lightly phenolic-textured line with the mousse balancing the grip. Nuances of bread and yeast energe, integrating with the fruit. The wine carries to a lingering, firm finish. This is a youthfully fresh and firm, thirst-quenching dry sparkling rosé with restrained stonefruit, floral and berry flavours and subtle bready-yeasty elements on a lively palate with some grip. Match with antipasto and tapas over the next 2+ years. An equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir fruit, two-thirds from Marlborough and one-third from Hawke’s Bay, fermented to 12.5% alc., with a dosage of 4.7 g/L RS. A Charmat wine. Lot R8865. 17.0/20 Jul 2018 RRP $21.95
