Gustave Lorentz ‘Reserve’ Alsace Pinot Gris 2009

Pinot Gris from France - Alsace
Review Date : 09-May-2011
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, this has a tight, minerally bouquet with white florals, nectarine fruit and nutty aromas, and a little sulphur. Medium-dry to taste, the wine is soft and rounded on palate with succulently ripe yellow stonefruit and pear flavours. There is an attractive unctuousness to the mouthfeel and the wine has good weight. The palate is carried by the residual sugar a little, but this is in good balance. Fruit from clay-limestone soiled sites near Bergheim, fermented to 13.5% alc. Drink with antipasto, pate and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 17.0-/20 May 2011 RRP $33.80
