Gunn Estate ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Nov-2016
Bright, even, ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, pale edged. The nose is light and elegant with up-front, straightforward aromas of dark-red cherry and berry fruit entwined with firm, dark herbs at the core. There are some cooler spectrum notes present. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is up-front with a tightly bound core of dark cherry fruit interwoven with subtle notes of herbs and liquorice. Some red floral elements show and the fruit is enlivened by fresh, background acidity and supported by light, dry tannin grip and structure. The flavours of cherries and herbs are carried by the extraction and acidity to an uncomplicated, moderately lingering finish. This is an up-front, straightforward Pinot Noir with flavours of dark cherries, herbs and liquorice along with fresh acidity and grainy tannin grip. Serve with antipasto and tapas over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fruit destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $19.99
