Gunn Estate ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Aug-2016
Full, even, light golden-yellow colour, paler on the rim. The nose is fresh with a good core of ripe yellow stonefruits along with honeysuckle and exotic florals, lifted by fresh fermentation esters. Some minerally lees notes emerge with aeration. Medium in sweetness and medium-bodied, the palate is fresh, bright and juicy with moderately concentrated flavours of yellow stonefruits melded with honeysuckle and exotic florals. This has a well-proportioned core and soft acidity with balanced textures that match the fruitiness and palate sweetness. The wine has linearity and the palate leads to a long finish of stonefruits, honey and florals. This is a fresh, bright and juicy medium Pinot Gris with balanced textures and linearity. Match with Thai, Japanese and Vietnmese fare over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fruit from the Southern Valleys fermented in a variety of small vessels to 14.5% alc. and 11.5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Aug 2016 RRP $19.99
