Grove Mill Wairau Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2014
100% Wairau Valley, including 17 Valley fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 5% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 3.1 g/L RS. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. This has an elegantly proportioned, intensely penetrating and well-concentrated nose of pungent passionfruit harmoniously integrated with flint and mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly bound flavours of pungent passionfruit, savoury stonefruits, green capsicums and minerals show with restrained sweetness and richness. The mouthfeel is elegant and slender with very fine textures and subtle, racy acidity providing energy and guiding the wine to an taut, near-austere, lingering finish. This is an elegant and finely featured and concentrated passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with seafood, herb-marinated poultry and goats cheese over the next 2+ years. 18.5-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $19.80
