Grossett ‘Polish Hill Clare Valley Riesling 2006

Riesling from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 31-Jan-2012
Bright straw-yellow, this has a full, voluminous nose with bold complex aromas of toast and petrol, over ripe citrus fruits, with a hint of flint and minerals giving a firmness and slight hard depth. The componentry is complex and integrating. Dry to taste, this is a firm and intense wine with plenty of depth and driven power. Complex secondary toast and lime flavours are backed by firm acidity, possibly a little hardness from reductive elements still to be absorbed. There is no denying the interest, but harmony and gentleness is yet to be achieved. Will it get there? Drinking now and over the next 3-4+ years. 12.5% alc.  17.5+/20  Jan 2012
