Gros Frere & Soeur ‘En Musigni’ Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 27-Aug-2014
Light ruby-red colour with purple at heart, lighter on rim with a little garnet appearing. This is full and robust on nose, very primary and still to settle, showing a spicy oak overlay with savoury dark berry fruits, pepper and whole bunch stalk perfumes. Medium-full bodied and elegant in proportion, plush, rich and juicy fruit flavours of succulent dark red berry fruits are interwoven with spicy oak and enlivened by fresh, racy acidity. This is youthful, primary and aromatic, with nuances of savoury interest and whole cluster stalk elements. Fine-grained tannins support the fruit and lend a refined structure and mouthfeel. The acidity drives the palate line and finish. Refined and lively, this will become savoury and complex over the next 7-9+ years. From a 1.5 ha parcel at the top section of the vineyard, across from Musigny. 18.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $199.00
