Gros Frere et Soeur ‘En Musigni’ Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2008

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Jul-2011
From 1.5 ha of vines, is bright ruby-hued garnet red in colour with some pale purple hues on edge. The bouquet is full, rich and expansive with layers of reasonably ripe red berry fruit aromas. Full and softly textured, this has an elegance of style, the red fruits intermingling with notes of dried herbs and a touch of stalk. The fruit though with a dense core, is restrained in its sweetness, allowing the acidity to feature. Tannin extraction is moderate, as to not overwhelm the fruit, and the wine finishes with length and nuance. This is a more forward style but will develop over the next 6-8 years.  Jul 2011
