Gros Frere et Soeur Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
One of the Gros family operations based at Vonsne-Romanee, run by Bernard Gros, son of Jean Gros, the holdings originating from Jean's brother and sister Gustave and Colette. Ruby-red colour with some garnet hues, lighter on edge. This has a soft and harmonious, well-integrated nose of soft red berry fruits with dried herbs and a little savoury interest and complex nuancing. Medium-bodied, this is a dry, smaller-scale wine on palate, a little on the tight and leaner side of expression. Red berry fruits, floral and savoury herb flavours intermingle, the fruit supported by fine-grained tannins. The textures are soft, and the wine finishes dry. This is modest, but is balanced and will drink well with food over the next 3-4+ years. 17.0-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $39.00
