Very pale straw-yellow colour and a hint of light gold. This is very firm and taut on the bouquet, still youthful and with development ahead. Green stonefruits, some flint and nutty inputs showing, the nose a touch restrained. On palate very elegant and with good depth and intensity. Fresh green stonefruits some herbs, flint and mineral. Very fine-textured and bright acidity here. Very good length. This will keep and needs time to unfold. 19.0+/20 Sep 2017 RRP $N/A Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour. This has a full, deep, layered bouquet based on green stonefruits and herbs, along with the savoury, secondary development bean-like elements in the background. The intensity of aromas is a highlight. Full and rich with concentrated flavours of spicy nectarines and savoury green stonefruits, the secondary development is less obvious and integrated. The mouthfeel is soft-textured, but has excellent drive and length, unfolding complexing detail of spices and smoke. Still evolving, and drinking well. 19.0/20 Sep 2015 RRP $N/A Sauvignon Blanc from the Woodbourne, Renwick and Rapaura sub-regions fully barrel-fermented in mainly seasoned French oak barriques by indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in oak 6 months with light batonnage, with 75% undergoing MLF, the wine given another 5 months further lees contact after transfer from barrel. Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues, pale on rim. The nose is powerful and dense, packed with aromas of herbs, nectarines and gooseberries, along with intense mineral, flint and oak spice notes. Dry and medium-full bodied, the flavours of nectarines, citrus fruits and herbs are stylishly concentrated, yet show richness and presence. Layers of minerals and nuts with oak emerge and fill the mouth. The palate has intensity and drive, with a fine textural line. The acidity is fresh, balanced and integral, and leads to a herb and spice infused finish. This sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc has depth and interest in the Graves, white Bordeaux style and will develop over the next 3-4+ years.
