Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Jul-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow with a slight green sheen. The nose is soft and lifted with precision, with aromas of passionfruit and lime melded with elderflower, vine leaf and savoury yeasty elements. Medium-bodied, lime, passionfruit and elderflower lead the palate, unfolding vine leaf, white spice and subtle creaminess. The fruit shows depth and refinement; balanced, well-portioned and harmonious flavours flow effortlessly with vibrant yet lacy acidity. The mouthfeel is exquisite, fine-textured and lightly chalky. This is a refined, complex, sleek Sauvignon Blanc with excellent balance and complexity that excite the palate. Fruit from Southern Valleys and central Wairau Plains, machine harvested at night, mainly fermented in stainless steel with cultured yeast, a portion underwent indigenous yeast fermentation in old oak barrels; individual batches were left on lees for 4 months approx. 13.5% alc. 19.5-/20 pts (97 pts) July 2022 RRP $30
