Greystone Waipara Valley Pinot Noir Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 14-Jan-2014
115 clone Pinot Noir given overnight skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 14.0% alc. and 2 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. Bright, pale salmon-pink colour with some depth, lighter on rim. This has a very fresh, delicate bouquet of softly concentrated strawberry fruit intermixed with watermelon aromas, with a subtle suggestion of red florals and confectionary. Very dry to taste with thirst quenching acidity, the palate is tightly bound and firm with a crisp, linear core of strawberry fruit notes that reveal suggestions of fruit pastilles. The mouthfeel is taut, with very fine textures that carry the stylishly restrained flavours to a very dry, mouthwatering and lingering finish. This is a very dry, fine and firmly driven rosé with delicate strawberry expression. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $24.00
