Greystone Vineyard Ferment Pinot Noir 2023, North Canterbury

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara

Lightly hazy, medium crimson, even colour throughout. The nose is lifted, with aromas of raspberry, blackberry, enoki, herbs, earth and rosehip. Medium-bodied, aromas of blackberry and raspberry at core, entwined with shiitake, liquorice, cinnamon bark, medicinal herbs, earth and rosehip. The fruit is savoury with an earthy nuance, adorned with spice and medicinal herbs, and gentle rosehip elements add a lifted, ethereal presence. Powdery tannins with gentle firmness coat the palate, lending a savoury linearity. This wine expresses honesty and elegance with a rustic charm. Match with braised pork and smoked duck over the next 6+ years. Handpicked fruit, vineyard fermented with 20% whole bunches, aged in barrels for 14 months. 13% alc. Unfined, unfiltered, vegan-friendly, and BioGro organic certified. 18.5/20 pst (93 pts) Jul 2026
