Greystone ‘Sea Star’ Waipara Valley Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 24-Oct-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, light on edge. This has an elegant and delicate nose of great clarity ad purity of lime fruit, white florals, wet stones and minerals, building with concentration in the glass. Dry to taste, fine, tightly bound and intense flavours of white florals and minerals combine with bright but soft acidity forming an elegant palate line. The wine flows seamlessly and with good drive, and the flavours are beautifully clear, refreshing and clean. The wine features dry, very fine textured finish with lacy acidity and nuances of limes and minerals. This is a beautifully refined dry Riesling of great clarity and purity of fruit. Serve as an aperitif or with subtle seafood dishes over the next 5-6 years. Clone 198 Riesling from ‘Block 4' on clay-based soils, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs, the wine given lees-stirring. 19.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $27.95
