Greystone ‘Sea Star’ Waipara Valley Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 17-Oct-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on edge. The bouquet is fine and intense with piercing lime, exotic jasmine florals and sherbet-like aromatics, the depth a feature. Dry to taste, this has very intense, pure flavours of lime fruit and jasmine florals with concentration and depth, underscored by excellent acid tension. There is great drive and very delicate textures allied to cutting freshness, resulting in a focussed palate line and a long, elegant finish of lime and minerals. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Greystone' vineyard fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs. A Riesling with elegance and refined power that will develop well over the next 4-6 years. Serve as an aperitif and with subtle seafood dishes. 18.5+/20 Oct 2011 RRP $24.95
