Greystone Pinot Gris 2024, North Canterbury

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara

☆☆☆☆☆
Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is lifted with lush aromas of pear, quince, pineapple, wildflower and spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of pear and quince entwined with pineapple, dandelion, honeysuckle, fennel and ginger. The fruit is pure, lifted, and supported by lively acidity. Dusty phenolic texture provides a silky mouthfeel and drives a refreshing, dry, long finish. An appealing Pinot Gris that shows purity and good energy along a fine-textured flow. Match with ginger marinated snapper and pork & fennel sausages over the next 3+ years. Handpicked, gently pressed, only used free-run juice, fermented in tank and 4% in neutral French oak barrels, aged on lees for 6 months. 14% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) May 2025 RRP $32
