Greystone ‘Feather Star’ Waipara Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
The ‘Feather Star' label is perfect for the low alcohol, sweeter, Germanic style of Riesling that is becoming very popular. Very pale straw-yellow with green hues to the colour, this has a very delicate and subtle bouquet of florals, blossoms, herbs and some honey hints. Medium-sweet, but gently so, the delicacy of fruit is a delight, with white florals, minerals and blossom. The wine has racy acidity, and is texturally well-balanced by the sweetness, with a silky delicacy resulting. A ‘sweet and sour' note from the acidity adds interest. Made from fruit from ‘Block 4' of the ‘Greystone' vineyard fermented to 8.0% alc. and 45 g/L rs. A wine to serve as an aperitif and with mild Asian cuisine. It will develop toasty interest over the next 4-5+ years. Only 65 cases made. 17.5-/20 Mar 2011 RRP $26.00
