Greenhough ‘Hope Vineyard’ Nelson Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 12-Jul-2018
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is beautifully refined and elegant in proportion, with intense and concentrated aromas of lime fruit harmoniously entwined with complex toasty notes and a layer of minerals. Kerosene elements emerge in the glass. This possesses a steely, mouthwatering aspect. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with a fine, tightly concentrated core of lime fruit entwined with lemon, honey and toast, along with secondary mineral and kersosene complexities. The wine flows smoothly along a fine-textured line of fruit extract, with fresh, lacy acidity lending energy and refreshing tension. The wine leads to a very long and sustained, complex-nuanced finish. This is an elegantly concentrated complex dry Riesling with lime fruit and secondary toast, mineral and kero notes on a fine-textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next- years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Hope’ vineyard, old vines, WBP with 25% cold macerated for 48 hours, the juice cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 11.5 g/L RS, TA 6.75 g/L and pH 3.0. Certified BioGro organic. 18.5+/20 Jul 2018 RRP $26.00
