Greenhough ‘Hope Vineyard’ Nelson Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 25-May-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on the rim. The nose is softly voluminous with a core of complex aromas showing lime fruit, apples, and nuances of white stonefruits along with subtle and savoury notes of toast, honey and minerals. This has mouthwatering finesse, depth and density along with detail. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is fine in presentation with delicate flavours of limes and apples with harmonious layers of honey and toast. The mouthfeel is very soft and smooth-flowing with a very fine-textured line and piquant, savoury acidity adding to the complex flavours and energy. The wine carries to a long, gently succulent, lively finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, smooth flowing, finely layered and detailed dryish Riesling with savoury interest. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 5+ years.
