Greenhough ‘Hope Vineyard’ Nelson Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Feb-2013
Pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rm. The bouquet is soft and seamless, very gentle and voluminous, with sweet and sour citrus fruit aromas and a hint of minerals behind the fruit. Off-dry to taste, the palate has good weight, depth and presence, with concentration and refined textures. The fruit is forward and accessible, with apple and citrus flavours, along with sweet and sour elements, minerals and earthy nuances. Excellent lacy acidity underlines the palate line, and along with a delicate textural thread and grip, leads to a dry, flinty finish. This Riesling has plenty of weigh and fruit extract, and shows much now, but should keep 5 + years. Fruit from vines 35-18 y.o., average 26 y.o., fermented to 12.0% alc. and 8 g/L rs. 18.0+/20  Feb 2013
