Greenhough ‘Hope Vineyard’ Nelson Riesling 2005

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Feb-2013
From vines planted in 1976 and 1996, WBP and tank fermented to 12.0% alc. and 20 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour, the nose is very full and broad, with harmoniously integrated aromas of honied citrus fruits with fine toasty elements, evenly presented, but still with more to unfold from its core. Medium-dryish to taste, rich and lush flavours of lime fruit and honey are complexed by toast and kero elements. The palate has good depth. Brisk and racy acidity is prominent and along with some drying phenolic textures, the wine has robust drive. This will still evolve, but will it soften out completely? 18.0/20 Feb 2013
