Greenhough ‘Apple Valley’ Nelson Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 18-Jun-2012
Fruit from the ‘Barraud' vineyard, Upper Moutere, WBP and cool-fermented to 8% alc. and 45 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues. This has a very delicate, fine and subtle nose of white stonefruits, lime and minerals. Medium in sweetness, light flavours of limes and florals show with a degree of lusciousness. The fruit is framed in a mouthwatering palate with lacy acidity which contributes a little sweet and sour edge. The acidity drives the palate, with the sweetness building, providing depth and line. A little textural thread shows on the finish with both acidity and a little hint of honey adding interest. This thirst-quenching and racy medium-sweet Riesling has the delicacy to match Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. 18.0-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $22.00
