Grava Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Jun-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly fresh with gently concentrated aromas of gooseberry fruit with subtle nose of tropical fruits, green capsicums and herbal elements, along with subtle flinty lees nuances. The aromatics are refined and reserved in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of gooseberries, capsicums, tropical fruits and herbs are tightly bound and show concentration. The palate has good presence and very fine, dry, phenolic textures and crisp, lacy acidity provide linearity. The wine carries to a long, lingering, dry finish with restrained fruit flavours of gooseberries, herbs and capsicums. This is an elegantly concentrated, reserved Sauvignon Blanc with a fine heart of gooseberry, herb and capsicum flavours and a dry finish. Sauvignon Blanc fruit WBP and tank-fermented with 8% in large format French oak to 12.5% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on fine lees with batonnage. 17.5/20 Jun 2016 RRP $27.50
