Graham’s ‘Six Grapes’ Port

Fortified Port Style from Portugal
Review Date : 21-May-2013
A Reserve wine, based on fruit from Graham’s first-class vineyards in the Vintage Character style. 20.0% alc. Seen as similar to a 5 y.o. Vintage Port. Very dark, saturated black-red colour. The bouquet is full and harmoniously presented with ripe black berry fruits and opulent plum notes with cherry piquancy. All of the components are well-integrated and show a completeness. Sweet to taste, lusciously rich and succulently ripe black berry and plum fruits are the feature on palate. The mouthfeel is refined and composed with building depth and richness and the flavours flow seamlessly. Fine-grained tannins underline the fruit and the spirit is very integral. An array of subtle fruit nuances and spices blossom on the finish. This will match rich berry fruit and chocolate-based desserts and strong cheeses. 19.0-/20 May 2013 RRP $55.95 Graham's proprietary blend in the Vintage Port style, bottled after 3-4 years aging in cask. 20% alc. Very dark, deep, black-hued purple red. The bouquet is full and open with bright, vibrantly ripe and rich dark red berry fruits unfolding layers of earth and warmth. Sweet and rich, the fruit is juicy, near lush, but framed by considerable structure and extract. The tannins are prominent but reasonably fine-grained, providing some round suppleness, and balanced by the sweetness. Fine, supporting spirit underlines the palate. This is a fulsome and fruity premium Vintage Character expression. 18.5-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $59.95
