Graham’s 10 Y.O. Tawny Port

Fortified Port Style from Portugal
Review Date : 27-May-2013
Light tawny colour with some mahogany hues, a little garnet showing, lighter on rim. This has a full and voluminous nose with layers of dried fruits, raisins, nuts and complexing rancio that unfolds with layers of detail. Sweet to taste, lush fig, toffee and caramel infused fruit flavours gently unfold, filling the palate. The flavours are accessible and moderately concentrated, allowing the spirit to feature. This is clean and cutting, with sweetness and sugar prevailing over texture and structure. The rancio complexity is prominent and carries the ling, even finish. This is a sweet and accessible 10 Y.O. Tawny that balances sweetness with fruit, but unfolds complexity in the glass. Serve with baked pastry desserts and hard cheeses. Aged for an average of 10 years in seasoned oak casks, 20.0% alc. 18.5+/20 May 2013 RRP $72.95 Aged on average 10 years, 20.0% alc. Light tawny colour with amber hues, light on edge. Rich dried fruits, citrus notes, nuts and rancio notes are wonderfully integrated forming a complex, layered bouquet. Sweet to taste, this is rich and intensely concentrated, but smooth and flowing through the palate with harmonious flavours of dried fruits, figs, fruitcake and distinctive nutty-woody rancio flavours. The spirit is beautifully fine and totally in balance, the wine possessing great energy. The finish is very long and sustained, showing beautiful rancio nuances. An excellent 10 Y.O. Tawny with real balance and complexing rancio. 19.0/20 Jun 2012 RRP $77.95
