Goldwater Wairau Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with light green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is soft and ethereal, gently filling with nuances of passionfruit and lifted tropical fruits, along with piquant fresh herbs, and minerals, with saline nuances adding interest and detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright and luscious fruit flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit and tropical fruits show with openness and accessibility. The fruit has depth and an easy breadth, but is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity. Fine detail emerges and subtle textures carry the wine to a sustained, nuanced finish. This is an accessible and balanced, juicy Sauvignon Blanc with attractive gooseberry and tropical fruit detail. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 100% Wairau Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.9 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $21.00
