Glasnevin ‘Limited Release’ Waipara Valley Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 20-Jul-2016
Bright yellow colour with light green-gold hues. The nose is softly full with gently honied aromas entwined with lime and lemon fruit, exotic florals, hints of fresh herbs and nuances of minerals. The aromatics build in intensity and depth with aeration. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, the palate features rich and luscious flavours of honeysuckle and sherbet intermingling with lime fruit and exotic floral and fresh herb elements, forming a fine, concentrated core. The mouthfeel is bright, lively and refreshing with crisp acidity, and the wine follows affine grained, textured finish from the fruit extract. The wine carries to a zesty, sustained finish with exotic fruit and floral notes. This is a fresh and lively, exotic medium Riesling with fine fruit textures and length. Serve with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from two vineyards on Glasnevin soils, fermented in stainless-steel to 11.0% alc. and 26 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Winemaker: Petter Evans. 18.5/20 Jul 2016 RRP $24.00
