Glasnevin ‘Limited Release’ Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 06-Nov-2011
Dark, moderately deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance, this has a tight and concentrated and intensely packed nose of ripe, dark berry fruits, plums, liquorice and spices, with balanced oak. Medium-full bodied, concentrated and dense black plum and berry flavours along with Asian spices and oak are underlined by very fine-grained tannins forming a driven palate. The acidity is fresh and adds to the fruit richness. The wine has a very long, sustained finish with spice notes. An intensely concentrated and finely textured wine with bright, ripe fruit, this will develop over the next 5-8 years. Serve with Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Fruit from the ‘Fiddler's Green' vineyard, Georges Road, indigenous yeast fermented with 5% whole bunches to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 50% new French oak. 18.5/20 Nov 2011 RRP $45.00
