Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 28-Sep-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, a little paler on rim. The nose is softly full and broad with ripe aromas of greengages, nectarines and green stonefruits, building in depth and unveiling notes of savoury herbs and nuts and mineral complexities. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a gently mouthfilling palate, the flavours of greengages and green stonefruits initially reserved, but blossoming with layers of nectarines, savoury herbs and nuts. The mouthfeel features soft phenolic textures and integrated, soft acidity, lending roundness. The flavours and textures grow and carry to a dry, fine-textured finish. This is a soft, gently full, oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with green stonefruit, savoury herb and nutty notes, and rounded mouthfeel and textures. Match with herb-marinated poultry, pork and veal dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Carters’ and ‘Dakin Road’ blocks, the ‘Home’ block vines 25 y.o., hand-picked, WBP given some skin contact and fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 1.3 g/L RS. A 40% component of barrel-fermented wine was blended in. 17.5+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $25.00
