Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 21-Sep-2011
Very pale straw colour with youthful green hues, this has a very fine and tightly bound nose, somewhat shy at present, showing delicately pungent passionfruit and mineral aromas with good intensity, lift and cut. Dry on palate, steely gooseberry and passionfruit flavours are lifted by fermentation esters. There is good depth and a tight core to the wine, and youthful acid raciness provides brightness. A fine textural thread leads to a dry finish. This will develop more richness over the summer months and be a match with shellfish, salads and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Dakins Road', ‘Carters' and ‘Winery' blocks stainless-steel fermented at different temperatures to 13.9% alc. and dryness, the wine kept on lees. 17.5/20 Sep 2011 RRP $25.00
