Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Jan-2015
Merlot and Cabernet Franc fruit from the ‘Dakin’s Road’ block given 12 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 5.57 g/L RS. Pale strawberry pink colour with some depth, lighter edged. This has a gentle and elegant nose of strawberries, redcurrants and red florals, along with nuances of thirst-quenching chalky minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, delicately sweet and luscious fruit flavours of redcurrants and watermelon feature on the palate. Some fruit pastille elements add aromatic interest. The flavours are light and restrained, and the wine has a soft-textured line with fresh, lively acidity enhancing the mouthfeel, carrying the wine to a soft, dry finish. This is a clean, soft, dry rosé with gently luscious redcurrant flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with summer fruits and with antipasto over the next 18 months to 2 years. 16.5+/20 Jan 2015 RRP $25.00
