Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Dec-2013
Made from Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec from the ‘Dakins Road’ block, soaked on skins for 12 hours and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.48 g/L RS. Moderately deep, pale garnet-pink colour, lighter on rim. The nose is softly full and gently rich with aromas of savoury red berry fruits, watermelon and funky confectionary and spicy elements. Dry to taste, softly luscious flavours of strawberries and cream, red fruits and raspberry bon-bons show, gently filling the open palate. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with fresh, underlying acidity which enhances the fruit sweetness. Some savoury, spicy elements grow and are carried to a dry, soft finish with confectionary nuances. This is a softly refreshing, dry rosé with gently luscious and savoury nuanced fruit flavours. Serve with antipasto and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 16.5+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $25.00
