Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-May-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with just a suggestion of blush, near colourless on the rim. The nose is elegant in presentation with a fine and tight core of white and yellow stonefruits along with a subtle layering of exotic florals, and nuances of minerals. This has clarity and purity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut and tightly bound with light flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with floral elements and mineral nuances. The fruit forms an elegant, fine-textured core with good line and underlying fresh, lacy acidity. This has a degree of power and the wine carries along a fine-textured line, leading to a lingering, nuanced finish. This is a taut and elegant dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and exotic floras, on fine and fresh palate line. Match with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 3 years. Fruit 90% from the ‘Home’ block, half fermented in tank and half in barrel with 10% fermented on skins for 4 weeks, to 12.6% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 May 2018 RRP $27.00
