Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 07-Jun-2017
Bright yellow colour with some peach and blush hues, lighter on the rim. This has a softly full nose with moderate depth of savoury yellow stonefruits entwined with some wild honey and floral elements, and nuances of minerals. Medium-dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has light, but up-front flavours of yellow stonefruits and tropical fruits, along with subtle notes of savoury honey and florals. The wine flows with good energy, the light, crisp acidity providing some drive. The wine flows along a fine-textured line, the fruit receding as it carries to a light, nuanced finish of stonefruits, florals and honey. This is a light, up-front medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral and honied flavours on a crisp palate. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Boyd’ and ‘Blairpatrick’ blocks, 50% tank-fermented, a portion on skins, and 50% fermented in older oak to 12.5% alc. and 23.9 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Jun 2017 RRP $25.00
