Gladstone Vineyard Gladstone Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Apr-2016
Bright, moderately deep straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The nose is fresh and clean with pure and delicately nuanced aromas of white stonefruits and white florals, nuances of honeysuckle, and pears. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features gently rich flavours of white stonefruits, exotic florals, pears and honeysuckle which exude a subtle succulence. The mouthfeel is soft and finely textured with integrated acidity providing subtle linearity and tension. The wine flows harmoniously and smoothly to a light, lingering finish with honied elements. This is a smooth-flowing, gentle, dryish Pinot Gris with delicately rich stonefruit, pear and honied flavours. Match with Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Boyd’ and ‘Blairpatrick’ blocks, fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in seasoned oak barrels to 13.5% alc. and 3.97 g/L RS, the wine given extended lees contact. 17.0/20 Apr 2016 RRP $25.00
