Giunta Riesling 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Riesling from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Feb-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is softly full, with toffee apple and tropical fruit aromas, crushed rocks underlying sweet floral. Medium-light bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of toffee apple and mango have a ripe core, melded with apple blossom. Lively acidity carries crushed rock minerals to a crisp, juicy finish. The mouthfeel is plush flows with an apple skin texture. Good acid balance brings a succulent, moreish finish. This is a lush Riesling with flavours of toffee apple, mango, crunchy mineral, very moreish. Match with Kung Pao chicken and Spanish grilled octopus over 3-4 years. Fruit sourced from a single vineyard in Central Hawke's Bay, handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel tank to 11.3% alc, 13.5 g/l RS. 18.5+/20 (93 pts) Feb 2022 RRP $27
