Giunta Pinot Gris 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Feb-2022
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow. The wine has a softly voluminous bouquet, aromas of pear, citrus, and ripe nectarine interweave honey and light dusting of spice. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, nuances of pear, grapefruit and nectarine enriched by a honey note. The fruit has a sense of purity, the mouthfeel is slightly oily, adorned by a light hint of spice on the finish. The dry palate has balanced acidity, and good concentration lends a rounded, long finish. This is a balanced, dry Pinot Gris with great balance and a sense of purity. Match with lemongrass pork chops and grilled halloumi over the next 3 years. Fruit from Eskdale, machine picked to allow some skin time, fermented in stainless steel and old French oak puncheons to 13% alc. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) Feb 2022 RRP $22
