Giunta Crisp White 2020, Hawke’s Bay

Blended White from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Feb-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow with depth. The wine has a plush bouquet filled the glass with stonefruit, melon, citrus interwoven ginger and white floral. Medium-full bodied, dry to taste, voluminous aromas of ripe stonefruit underlined ginger, citrus and white floral. The wine is mouth-filling with a hint of creaminess; ginger spice followed and filled the palate, unfolding rich white blossom and closing with balanced, crisp acidity. This is a mouth-filling white blend that shows generous ripe fruit and spice. Match with takoyaki and popcorn chicken over the next 2-3 years. Handpicked, made from a blend of Chenin Blanc (35%) from Two Terraces Vineyard in Maraekakaho, Viognier (33%) and Chardonnay (32%) from Bridge Pa, fermented by varietal, approx 10% barrel fermented, 13% alc. 18-/20 pts (89 pts) Feb 2021 RRP $29
