Girardin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Cazetiers’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 09-Feb-2012
Darkish purple-hued ruby-red, with good depth to the colour, the bouquet is tight and somewhat restrained, unfolding to reveal dark plum fruit with violet perfumes and new oak shine and hints of game adding a layer of interest. Fine, firm and tight on palate, this has real depth and concentration. Bright dark plum and berry fruits with violet floral notes show with richness, the tannin extraction providing a balancing dryness through the palate line. The finish is long, with spice and plum notes lingering. Built with structure and dark fruit richness, this is still shy, but its potential will see it develop to reveal considerably more over the next 10-12 years.  Feb 2012  RRP $125.00
