Giesen ‘Small Batch’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2016
Bright, pale traw-yellow colour with light green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is tight and slender in proportion with penetrating and refreshing aromas of gooseberries and fresh herbs intermingling with secondary development green bean notes and mouthwatering minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses tightly bound flavours of gooseberries entwined with green stonefruits, fresh herbs and nuances of green beans. The mouthfeel is refreshingly crisp and fine in presentation, with very fine textures and crisp, lacy acidity which enlivens and enriches the fruit. The wine has good linearity, carrying to an elegant, dry finish with mineral nuances. This is a tightly bound, slender Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, herb and bean flavours on a fine featured, refreshing palate. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and Asian fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura district, tank-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.49 g/L RS, the wine given batonnage. Batch No. 4MSBWV. 17.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $32.99
