Gibson Bridge ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Jan-2015
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is bright and elegantly presented with lifted perfumes of pure white stonefruits, acacia and exotic florals, revealing spice elements and hints of flinty minerals and lees. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, aromatic and delicately succulent flavours of yellow stonefruits, honey and luscious, exotic florals are the feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is fine, soft and smooth in texture and enlivened by bright lacy acidity. A subtle core guides the wine. This is poised and flows with good energy, the palate leading to a light, gently aromatic, lingering finish. This is a bright, aromatic off-dry Pinot Gris with a subtle lusciousness and some exotic fruit notes. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.9% alc. and 8.1 g/L RS, the wine given 5 months lees contact. (Lot W15326) 18.0+/20 Jan 2015 RRP $34.00
