Gibson Bridge ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Apr-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour, lighter on edge. The bouquet is fresh and bright with aromas of yellow stonefruits lifted with floral elements and honey. Some steely, savoury flinty notes keep the bouquet youthfully refreshing, and the nose grows in intensity in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, subtly savoury yellow stonefruit flavours and lifted florals feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is weighty and fine with dry textures and balanced background acidity providing good liveliness. This has good drive from the alcohol, and the acidity lends a racy, steely freshness on the finish. This is a clean, fresh and steel, dry Pinot Gris with subtle savoury stonefruit flavours. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.0+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $34.00
