Gibbston Valley Central Otago Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 15-Dec-2014
Bright strawberry pink with cerise hues, pale on rim and youthful in appearance. The nose is very refreshing with elegant and bright strawberry and cream aromas, lifted by soft red florals and a steely mineral note, revealing subtle fruit pastille elements, the nose showing good intensity. Dry to taste, bright strawberry fruit and raspberry and cream notes are lifted by floral and confectionary notes. The mouthfeel is guided by very fine, dry phenolic textures, with mouthwatering acidity contributing to the liveliness and energy. The fruitiness and thirst-quenching palate is beautifully poised. The palate has good drive and line, carrying the vibrantly bright strawberry and floral flavours to a lingering finish. This is a bright, strawberry-fruited rosé with fine dry textures, lively acidity and perfect refreshing balance. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. 100% clone 10/5 Pinot Noir from the ‘Lane’ vineyard, Gibbston, given 24 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 5.9 g/L RS 18.5/20 Dec 2014 RRP $27.00
